Job Description

Lutheran Social Services of the South, Inc. (LSS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to serving people in need, including children, seniors, the financially challenged, and disaster response in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
LSS is the largest provider of children’s residential care in Texas and currently serves more than 26,000 individuals annually. LSS oversees more than 337 foster homes through our Foster In Texas (FIT) program and operates Lutheran Adoption Services of Texas (LAST), three children’s residential facilities in Texas, and charter schools on three campuses. LSS also provides services for seniors in five senior retirement communities as well as critical assistance and emergency response to those impacted by financial hardship and natural disasters.


Responsibilities:

General Description:     
This Web Developer\Application Manager position entails web-based development, implementation, maintenance, coordination, designing and developing web applications using HTML and HTML 5, SQL database administration and reporting, working with consulting or internal resources on development activities, and managing company intranet SharePoint site.

Job Requirements

Essential Functions:
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate Web site standards. Develop and maintain pages and links using appropriate tools. Regulate data and content storage on the Web site.
  • Web-based development, implementation, maintenance, and coordination.
  • Develop new web applications as identified by supervisor and management through packaged and customized applications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing web applications and all internal systems are integrated.
  • Perform complete testing of web applications unit and system, engaging users as necessary.
  • Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
  • Develop database-driven web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing.
  • Develop external Web portals allowing users to input and retrieve accurate information
  • Gather feedback from design and technical staff on Web site development needs.
  • Support all applications developed in-house and 3rd party with regard to accessibility, function, updating, user maintenance, security, backup, and training when needed.
  • The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
  • Work with consulting or internal resources on development activities.
  • Working with CSS, HTML, HTML5, PHP, and domain hosting.
  • Working with PR team to create, manage, and update over 20 WordPress websites.
  • Administer company intranet SharePoint site.
  • Provides advanced Technical Support to end users and IT team.
  • Assist with miscellaneous department duties as requested by the IT Manager.
  • Driving/travel required.
