Manufacturing Engineer – medical device, process development, 3-D design, cnc machining


A very successful medical device company continues to increase market share and sales.  The growth is due to their world class team of associates that strive to be an industry leader.  This innovative company has invested in new technology, software, machine tools and advanced lab equipment.  They produce orthopedic implants, trauma hardware and surgical instruments.  The company has been expanding and hiring at multiple plant locations.  Our client offers 100% paid health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance for all their valued employees.  They also offer a 401K with company match and a generous paid time off ( PTO ) program.  They provide a relocation assistance program to help transition new associates to their area.  They strive to develop their associates providing training and educational assistance.


We are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to support process development, new product launches and the manufacturing operation.  We are searching for manufacturing engineers with a technical Bachelors degree and experience working in a high precision CNC machining environment.  The Manufacturing Engineer will review new prints, estimate cost, manpower requirements and develop the best method to manufacture medical implants.  Interested candidates will need strong Gd&T, slid modeling, good technical writing and design skills.  Knowledge of Solidworks or 3-D CAD software is required.  The Manufacturing Engineer will develop the order of operations, create process drawings and dimension tool drawings.  Experience developing first piece and in-process inspection sheets is needed.  Knowledge of metrology and inspection methods to ensure quality and best practices is also needed.  The Manufacturing Engineer will review tolerance stack ups and interference fits.  Past experience working with vendors and suppliers is preferred.  The Manufacturing Engineer works with cutting tool, machine tool and automation vendors, investigating and justifying new technology.  This position interacts closely with CNC programmers, production and quality associates to communicate processes, work instructions and inspection methods.  Experience working in a FDA / ISO-13485 certified medical device manufacturing environment is a huge plus, however, not required.  Knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining primarily milling is also a plus.  Strong process development, 3-D design, Gd&T, cutting tool applications and technical writing skills is key to this position.


MUST HAVE:  5 plus years of manufacturing engineering, process development, 3-D design, Gd&T, CNC machining and the ability to create inspection methods of close tolerance components.  Past experience working in the medical device / orthopedic industry is a plus.
