Job Description


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Receives and responds to incoming calls from producers and customers. Handles service and sales inquiries. Understands the assigned product and can provide service to internal and external customers. Maintains records of conversations and has knowledge and understanding of the current processing systems.

2. Provides excellent service to producers and customers in support of business unit’s service and sales objectives. Demonstrates an understanding of customer needs and emphasizes prompt responses. Educates consumers and producers on product features and benefits. Is able to communicate product information in an easy to understand manner.

3. Analyzes problems to determine proper course of action. Can resolve routine errors and involves the appropriate internal administrative areas to ensure accurate completeness of other issues. Follows-up to ensure completion.

4. Engages consumers and producers to retain their assets with Nationwide. Probes to understand reasons for asset flight.

5. Uncovers routine sales opportunities and markets Nationwide products to producers. Turns service inquiries into sales opportunities.

6. Assists in gathering profile information for producers.

7. Receives requests for sales literature and responds in a timely manner.

8. Maintains records related to producers and customers. Documents conversations accurately.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 



Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

 Undergraduate studies in insurance, business, marketing or other related fields preferred.  College degree preferred

 

Licenses/Designations: Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

 

Experience: One year experience in customer service, sales related occupations.

 

Knowledge: Knowledge of various insurance products and the sales process. Knowledge of the state and local laws necessary to understand the legal implications of certain product features in different states.

 

Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communications necessary in order to talk to producers/customers about product features and to help in the sales process. Basic knowledge of computers and common office software.)

Initial training period is 7 weeks, hours of training from 9:00-4:00 to 9:00-5:30.

After training period, shift can be any block of time between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday - Friday, and can change from week to week.

Minimum hours per week scheduled are 25, maximum is 40. Number of hours scheduled per week will vary depending on call volumes. Typically will average 32 hours per week.

Provides superior service and sales support to producers. Provides superior service support to customers. Processes business in accordance with government regulations, contract provisions, and internal procedures and controls. Is knowledgeable of our products and can handle different types of inquiries. Analyzes and resolves routine issues. Uncovers routine sales opportunities on service calls with producers and retains assets.
