Job Description

Corizon Health, the nation's leading private providers of contract healthcare services to correctional facilities has an Exceptional Opportunity for a Psychologist at our Lewis Correctional Complex in Buckeye, Arizona.

The Psychologist provides individual counseling and group therapy to patients.  Psychologist administer, score, and interpret basic psychological tests.  The Psychologist provides crisis intervention counseling.  He/she documents psychlogical services and contracts in the medical record.  The Psychologist prepares reports and updates for medical, correctional, and parole staffs as required.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide group therapy sessions
  • Provide individual counseling to patients
  • Administers, scores, and itnerprets psychological tests.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as requested by physician or head nurse
  • Participates in training correctional and nursing staff, as required.
  • Documents all patient contracts in the medical file.
  • Prepares evaluation reports, patient profiles as requested for correctional, medical, and/or parole authorities.
  • Other duties as required



Job Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology Required.
  • Licensed to practice as psychologist in Arizona
  • Masters in psychology from an accredited institution
  • Working knowledge of basic test instruments (MMPI, I.Q., etc).
