Financial Institutions - Credit Risk – Director
Job Description:

Major financial services firm with offices in NYC, is seeking a Financial Institutions Credit Risk Officer at the Director level to join their Risk Department. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in counterparty credit risk, have experience covering financial institutions - broker-dealers, finance companies, insurance, and fund companies. In addition, this individual should have experience structuring of counterparty documentation ISDA and PSA, and ability to conduct independent review of financial institutions. A high level of credit analysis, underwriting, and due diligence skills is also required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analysis of financial institutions in addition to country based financial system reviews
  • Assign, review, and approve internal credit ratings
  • Approve Financial Institutions credit limits
  • Evaluate and approve complex counterparty credit risks
  • Develop appropriate risk infrastructure and processes to measure, evaluate, and control credit risk across a broad range of credit products
  • Prepare written credit risk analysis for senior management
  • Participate in the development of credit risk analytics for different product types – economic capital, future exposure, credit valuation adjustment

Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years in Credit Risk experience (including at least  5 years in Financial Institutions Group covering banks, broker-dealers, finance companies, insurance companies, and funds)
  • Experience focusing on the LATAM or APAC regions
  • Fluency in Spanish or Chinese is a big plus
  • Excellent credit analysis, underwriting, and due diligence skills
  • Experience in counterparty credit risk management
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products – loans, bonds, etc Experience evaluating and structuring of counterparty credit risk documentation – ISDA/PSA.
  • Foreign language skills – fluency in Spanish or Chinese is a big plus as some of the focus of this role is on LATAM and APAC regions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or CFA preferred
