The Homestead at Maplewood features 61 assisted and independent living apartment homes.  We are seeking a full-time Community Relations Coordinator to provide housing oversight as well as marketing our facility within the community.  We provide our residents with a home in a resident focused culture.  WE PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT BENEFIT PACKAGE and COMPETITIVE WAGES!


  Responsible for achieving and maintaining budgeted occupancy.  The primary responsibilities of this position include working with the director to coordinate and implementation of an effective marketing plan, conducting community outreach with professional referral sources, coordinating special events, tracking/follow-up referrals, building and maintaining a marketing lead list and conducting tours with prospective residents and family members.  Recruiting volunteers and coordinating training, outreach and scheduling the Volunteer group.  Work on various fund development activities and lead the fund development team.


  • Coordinates and carries out a marketing plan to maintain occupancy targets.  Establish personal contacts and builds relationships with prospective residents and their families aimed at securing a reservation followed by a move-in.
  • Set up appointments, conduct tours and “close" prospective clients.
  • Provide tours and complete lease agreements with new residents.
  • Plan and coordinate direct mail campaigns.
  • Recruit for Volunteers, orientate them and train on job responsibilities of a volunteer.
  • Manage schedules for volunteers.
  • Work with families on housing options when necessary.
  • Work the front desk when necessary.
  • Help coordinate the campus newsletter.

  • Two (2) year degree in marketing, communications or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding and ability to carry out an effective marketing and fund development programs.
  • Strong communication and follow through.
  • Empathetic in addition to having excellent customer service skills; friendly, flexible, enthusiastic and outgoing.
  • Well connected within the community and knowledgeable of community resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge in the field of geriatrics and special needs of the older adult preferred.
  • Strong aptitude in writing, reading, presenting in front of groups and articulation of speech.
  • Strong skills in multi-tasking, time management and prioritization.
  • Shows high degree of initiative and works independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong organizational and follow through skills required.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work situations.
  • Current unencumbered driver’s license and ability to travel daily in the community by car.
