Job Description 




Sells products for distributor to business and industrial establishments or individuals at customer's place of business that require the physical presence of a sales person by performing the following duties.




Primary Duties and Responsibilities




  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.



  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders


  •  Displays product using catalog, and emphasizes salable features.



  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.



  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.



  • Reviews accounts with Management at the end of each month to drop or add accounts as needed.



  • Works with Customer Account Representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.



  • Tracks stock levels.



  • Coordinates customer training.



  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.



  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.



  • Attends trade shows.




Job Requirements 


  • Must have high performance sales skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communications and the ability to be persuasive.
  • Must be computer literate with MS Office products.
  • Ability to resolve problems and find creative solutions.
  • Strong math skills including percentages.
  • High self motivation.


Education and Experience:

A minimum 5 years qualified successful outside sales experience with industrial/technical emphasis; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Electronic/electrical/industrial/technical experience with customer and market knowledge is highly desired.


Base pay, car allowance plus commission.
