Job Description

Nashville, Tenn.-based Bridgestone Americas, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, the world’s largest tire and rubber company.
Bridgestone Americas and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand tires to address the needs of a broad range of customers, including consumers, automotive and commercial vehicle original equipment manufacturers, and those in the agricultural, forestry and mining industries.

Advanced role responsible for financial analysis of business transactions and planning cycle activities.  Possesses an advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.  Possesses an advanced understanding of relevant computer software and can provide technical expertise and guidance to less seasoned co-workers regarding financial processes/procedures.  Possesses a seasoned understanding of the business environment and an in-depth understanding of the broader finance organization.  Leverages expertise to support customers.  Produces analyses for review and interpretation by management with recommendations and enhanced insight. 
 
Operates effectively as part of a larger team and in managing own work.  May lead medium-sized projects as directed by management.  This may include examining, recommending and persuading management to implement improvements.  Forms productive relationships with internal customers by listening, clarifying and responding effectively.  Responds to diverse requests and problems quickly, efficiently and courteously and responds to technical requests with limited assistance of supervisor.  Cooperates and works effectively with co-workers.  Learns to build productive networks with internal and external customers.  
 
Able to effectively communicate in both written and spoken situations in order to persuade or provide opinions.  Responsible for writing reports and documenting analyses for supervisor and management in a clear and concise manner.  Confidently presents more complex financial/accounting knowledge in front of numerous audiences, including management from all work units and co-workers.  Independent decision making required after limited consultation with supervisor.  Work is reviewed periodically.  
 
Must be a self-starter that independently establishes own work priorities.  Selects tools and methodologies for assignments and projects.  Commits to deliverables with customers and/or management.  Extensive role in the budget process.




Job Requirements

Required –
Accounting, finance, business or technical-related bachelor’s degree with at least three years of related work experience or seven years of financial analysis-related experience.  Advanced business degree or professional certification will be considered the equivalent of one year experience each.
 
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Access.  Hands-on experience building spreadsheet models and creating ad-hoc reports by summarizing large amounts of data.
