Senior Accountant Join a winning company that has found a business model that works!! This highly successful real estate investment firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their talented finance and accounting team. The Senior Accounting opening has been created due to the promotion of the incumbent, will report to a Fund Controller and works closely with 3 4 other top accounting professionals. The duties will include traditional accounting functions like General Ledger oversight and closing the books. If you like ticking and tying this could be for you! In addition, the person in the seat will perform fund accounting. The ideal candidate will come from large corporate real estate firms or from a large public accounting firm.
Job Requirements
Requirements: Minimum of 4 to 5 years of accounting experience with an emphasis in the real estate industry Experience in both public accounting and private industry accounting Experience with investment companies Skills: Conscientious about achieving deadlines and have an accurate work product Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner Quantitative propensity with ability to spot errors Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel Familiar and experienced in performance data returns Familiar with internal rate of return calculations Familiar with consolidating and equity method of accounting Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting pronouncements in general Understand variance analysis when comparing actual to budget or historical results Understand how to read and write financial statements Responsibilities: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day to day accounting of real estate assets and the funds that invest in these assets. The position is generally responsible for closing the books and records for approximately 15 to 20 properties and all ancillary accounting related to these assets. Review all property management financial reports on the individual assets Record the fair value adjustment for investments in real estate and debt Record equity in earnings for joint ventures Record minority interest for consolidated entities Consolidate all investments within a Fund Write quarterly financial statements Answer client quarterly questionnaires Perform cash management functions Record and reconcile financial information Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports Prepare annual cash audit work papers Prepare annual audit and tax work papers Prepare internal and external performance returns Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for checking accounts Calculate and prepare statements of cash flows Be able to establish educational goals necessary to enhance job skills Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Excel, Word, MRI (general ledger), Outlook E-Mail, and Internet research tools Able to organize and summarize information in writing and to proofread work Task- and goal-oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting Able to work occasional evenings and weekends FOR IMMEDIATE CONFIDENTIAL CONSIDERATION please contact Lynn Hopper at [Click Here to Email Your Resume].
