Job Responsibilities:




  • Pharmacy Prior Authorization process experience preferred

  • Pharmacy Medicaid experience preferred

  • Outbound calls to members to assess pre-determined pharmacy issues regarding medication disposition and status.

  • Utilizes pharmacy software products and other system software to build, research and enter member information

  • Screens member information for appropriate referral to Pharmacy therapist staff

  • Performs non-medical research including eligibility verification, COB, and benefits verification,

  • Documentation and Communication-Maintains accurate and complete documentation of required information that meets risk management, regulatory, and accreditation requirements

  • Promotes communication, both internally and externally to enhance effectiveness of medication therapy management services-Protects the confidentiality of member information and adheres to company policies regarding confidentiality

  • May communicate with Case Managers and supports the administration of the pharmacy process in compliance with various laws and CMS regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Sedentary work involving significant periods of sitting, talking, hearing and keying. Work requires visual acuity to perform close inspection of written and computer generated documents as well as a PC monitor

  • May perform medical research to support Pharmacy personnel

Education andCertification Requirements



  • High School Diploma or G.E.D

  • A current, unrestricted clinical license(s) to practice is required with the Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • Call Center Experience

  • Strong customer service skills to coordinate service delivery including attention to customers, sensitivity to issues, proactive identification and resolution of issues to promote positive outcomes for members.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer).

  • Ability to effectively participate in a multi-disciplinary team including internal and external participants.

  • Effective communication, telephonic and organization skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Self-starter
