ManTech is seeking a DBA to become an integral part of a diverse team that manages and supports military medical logistics systems. At ManTech International Corporation, you will help support the war-fighter while working in an enterprise architecture environment.

This position requires a combination of Oracle database management and Linux System Administration skills. The candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing Oracle RAC using Active Data Guard and providing Oracle database support for development, test, and production environments. Management of a Linux environment having virtual and physical servers for a government customer is also required of the candidate. Detailed Oracle and Linux tasks are:

Oracle Tasks

• Manage and monitor Oracle databases in Development and Test environments locally

  • Implement Oracle RAC and Active Data Guard

  • Support remote production Oracle databases

  • Evaluate and implement Oracle CPU patches

  • Develop, test, document, and package PL/SQL stored procedures and scripts for deployment at production sites

  • Troubleshoot and debug reported Oracle issues in the Development, Test, and Production environments

Linux Tasks

  • 5+ years hands-on Linux system administration and engineering experience, including shell scripting or Perl programming

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise storage system including backup and archival, and comprehensive knowledge in DAS, NAS and SAN

  • Proficiency in PKI, DNS, NFS, NIS, LDAP and system security for both Linux / UNIX and Windows systems

  • DNS fundamentals

  • BIND Network fundamentals, including diagnostics with Unix tools

  • RedHat Linux ES 3, 4, 5 and 6

  • Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers

  • Well versed in Apache web server, PHP, MySQL VMWare

  • Ability to deploy, support, and diagnose real issues for a production environment

  • Experience with JBoss and Glassfish, NIS, NFS, BIND, Sendmail SNMP, TFTP, Iptables, Quagga, Syslog, Snort, Splunk Proficiency with fiber channel switches and SANs a plus
    Familiarity with Cisco CatOS and IOS Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good understanding of computing security, operation procedure and general practice

  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly

  • Ability to both take direction and work in a self-directed environment; to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts; and ability to work, as an effective team member is essential

• Effective writing and oral communications skills and ability to provide appropriate status reports

Requirements: Candidates must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed: Mid-Level knowledge of Unix (Solaris) Linux operating systems, experience developing Oracle PL/SQL scripts, and implementing Oracle RAC and Data Guard. Experience reviewing requirements and determining actions required to maintain system availability and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Other Skills Required: This position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, and excellent oral and written communication skills. General use of Microsoft office products (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project).

Clearance: Position requires, at a minimum, the ability to obtain a public trust security clearance.

Job Requirements

Requires Bachelor¿s degree (in technology, engineering or business discipline) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related (engineering and/or sales) experience.
