RN Clinical Specialist - Psychiatry (APRN) - Part Time
**This position is 24 hours per week.**
Advanced certification in psychiatric mental health nursing is preferred.
Psychiatric Clinical Specialists are advanced
practitioners in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and work collaboratively with Psychiatrists in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to promote optimal mental health including the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Must have the capacity to prioritize consults based on safety, acuity, and potential risk to self or others. Consistently demonstrates a high level of empathy and compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude towards patients. Provides support to patients, families and significant others. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her department.
At least 2 years of experience in a Psychiatric setting, preferably in an advanced practice or consultative role.
Advanced Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is preferred.
Demonstrated/documented highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness as an interdisciplinary team member.
Ability to learn and apply computer systems in order to manage patient information.
Active participation in nursing professional organization preferred.
Excellent customer relations skills.
