II. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing respiratory therapy, under medical direction, in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system. QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION:1. Must be a graduate of a C.A.A.H.E.P. Approved certified respiratory therapy technician program. B. EXPERIENCE:1. Entry level position. C. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:1. Must have a current practitioner’s license in the state of Texas.2. Must have a basic CPR certificate. D. EQUIPMENT/SKILLS:1. Ability to concentrate and make quick judgements with a high level of skill, knowledge, understanding and accuracy.2. Ability to work without close supervision.3. Strong written and verbal skills.4. Computer skills.5. Ability to maintain confidentiality.6. May be asked to work overtime with little or not notice.7. May be asked to be available for stand-by/on-call duties. E. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Constant walking and/or standing.2. Requires physical stamina to life and move patients3. Possible exposure to body fluids and infectious disease.
