Sales Development Trainee
Job Description

The Sales Development Trainee will partake in a one-year rotational training program designed to prepare an individual for an outside sales career with WESCO.  Performance will be evaluated throughout the year in various business units and departments with potential placement in an inside/outside sales position.
•         Work in all areas of assigned branch and learn through on-the-job training and classroom instruction in the following areas: Warehouse Operations, Branch Administration, Product Applications, Outside and Inside Sales, Business Development, Inventory Control and Audit
•         Partake in additional training in the following areas: Financial Services, Marketing, Supplier Relations, Pricing, Global Accounts, and Procurement with an emphasis on using LEAN Principles to support WESCO’s Continuous Improvement Culture  
•         Participate in centralized classroom and online instruction throughout the year and develop a solution-focused presentation on a WESCO-related issue to peers and company leaders
•         Work on a variety of projects to support assigned branch and business unit
•         Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

•      Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required
•      Interest in outside sales required
•      Proficient skills in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
•      Demonstrated strong sales presence (consultative with the ability to close the sale)
•      Ability to be very organized and handle multiple tasks
•      Ability/willingness to re-locate anywhere in the U.S. or Canada for training and/or placement
•      Ability to travel locally and nationally when necessary
•      Experience working for an industrial distributor, contractor or supplier preferred
•      Prior internship or outside sales experience preferred
