Job Description

Position Summary

  • The Quality Assurance Analyst III develops, publishes, and implements test plans.
  • This position develops quality assurance standards, defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
  • They work as a member of the QA team to develop and implement Quality solutions for complex and difficult projects and / or applications under test, with the use of, but not limited to, Quality assurance test tools such as (Microsoft / HP) as examples, or any tools that increase efficiency and productivity of the QA effort.
  • The Quality Assurance Analyst III may lead and direct the work of small to medium sized QA teams, having resources both onshore and offshore, effectively, to meet project scope and timelines within the specified budgets.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Project planning, estimations and monitoring of tasks to completion (20%).
  • Lead onshore / offshore QA project team resources (20%).
  • Providing technical guidance to more junior Analysts and / or associates (20%).
  • Elevate, drive and resolve project and staff related issues as necessary (5%).
  • Analyze requirements, user stories and analysis models (10%).
  • QA and test low, medium to high complexity modules (10%).
  • Developing and executing narrative test plans, test cases, automation test scripts (10%).
  • Assist with establishing QA department process and procedures (5%).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) 
  • 4-7 years experience and/or training.
  • Experience in Lieu of Education: Two years experience for every year of formal education required.
  • Knowledgeable with SDLC, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Solutions Foundations methodology, (MSF), Rational Unified Process (RUP), Waterfall, SCRUM.
  • Knowledgeable and able to execute, including, but not limited to, different types of tests, such as regression, functional, integration, load/performance, whitebox, blackbox.'
  • Working knowledge and able to apply quality assurance and test principles, theories and concepts.
  • Ability to guide and mentor QA analysts. Via SQL, demonstrate ability to run or review SQL scripts.
  • Provide written narrative test plans and test execution plans.
  • Ability to stay focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates the use of technology into a key competitive advantage for QA and IT.
  • Ability to lead a small to medium sized teams, comprised of onshore/offshore members.
  • Ability to multitask when needed.
  • Clearly demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow processes, work effectively, both in a team and independently, and maintain a positive working attitude.
  • Must be able to work mornings/evenings/weekends as necessary.
  • Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with people and quickly learn job functions and skills of personnel in business areas.
