This position is responsible for coordinating and performing MRI Scans for diagnostic purposes and for providing patient services using applicable imaging modalities. CORE VALUES: A. QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION:1. High school graduate2. Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent. B. EXPERIENCE:1. Three (3) years experience in a clinical radiology setting is required.2. One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a clinical or Out Patient MRI setting is preferred. C. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:1. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), preferred.2. Texas Department of Health license, preferred.3. CPR Certification preferred. D. EQUIPMENT/SKILLS:1. Must be proficient and knowledgeable in the operation and manipulation of a highly sophisticated, computerized diagnostic imaging equipment, its software and hardware, interaction and its components; i.e. laser camera.2. Must be able to operate basic radiographic equipment as needed. 3. Must be able to evaluate situations and make decisions to resolve them as quickly as possible to maintain continuity, work efficiency to maximize productivity. E. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Works indoors in a well lighted, air conditioned suite.2. Works closely with Physicians, Nurses and other medical staff professionals. 3. Is subject to possible exposure to electrical shock, infectious diseases, and contaminated needles.4. Prolonged standing and/or walking and sitting.5. Light (under 15 pounds) and heavy lifting (over 15 pounds).6. Use of both hands required.7. Must have the ability to work alone8. Exposure to infectious disease processes, biological fluids, potential physical injury and prolonged exposure to Video Display Terminals (VDT).9. Must also successfully complete the pre-employment/post job offer health screening examination, and the annual screening each year thereafter as an employee. F. OTHER:1. Must be able to complete department specific training and orientation throughout the probation period of six (6) months.2. Performs other duties as assigned.
