Build and maintain strong working relationships with IT leadership, business unit finance and IT operations personnel as well as corporate financial management.
Responsible for developing, managing and reporting on operational and capital budgets and forecasts to ensure targets are achieved.
Drive effective governance processes to ensure a robust approach to communicating financial metrics to enable organizational alignment with IT strategies. This includes corporate financial results within Managers direct oversight as well as local business IT results not under the managers direct control.
Support Senior IT Management in evaluating and driving EVA positive financial decisions and developing cost reduction strategies relevant to the entire $100MM+ global IT spend.
Partner with business unit finance leaders to establish effective working relationships and a collaborative approach to financial reporting, coordinated execution of top down cost reduction initiatives and the development of fair cost allocation approaches.
Develop and monitor tools/processes for evaluating specific costs of lines of service within the IT organization
Prepare and update monthly forecast for multiple IT lines of business
Lead efforts to harmonize localized IT spend policies and cost reporting
Analyze budget to actual results for multiple IT lines of business, work with operational owners to manage appropriately
Oversee IT fixed asset tracking and manage multi-year depreciation projections
Oversee the capital approval process and evaluate IT capital investments
Prepare and distribute monthly management reporting package
Participate in contract and licensing financial evaluations
Prepare various financial models to support decision-making process for strategic initiatives
Support and/or lead certain areas of the global IT continuous process improvement
Lead the development and calculation of annual business unit cost allocations
Project management of assigned finance projects for global IT organization
Prepare ad hoc analyses as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and accounts payable business processes
Experience preferred in SAP, Business Intelligence (BI), and HFM
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
Expert level in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Availability to travel < 25%
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Accounting or related business degree
Prior leadership role in managing reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes
Preferred Education / Experience
Operational Accounting Experience (in a manufacturing or global environment , preferably Fortune 500)
Project Management Experience
Masters Degree and/or CPA
The IT Finance Manager works to manage and communicate the financial status and operational productivity of Global IT within SPX. Responsible for establishing, managing, and maintaining effective, documented IT Finance policies and procedures. This individual is responsible for annual budgets, monthly forecasting, budget to actual reporting and various other financial analyses to support investment decisions. Interfaces with Corporate and Segment IT as well as Corporate Finance.
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the Finance and Accounting field as they relate to the delivery of Information Technology services and the related cost allocations within a Manufacturing organization. Relies on expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works under general but limited supervision. An extensive degree of creativity and latitude is required.
