Systems Engineer - SE4-2970
Infoscitex (IST) is seeking an innovative and creative Systems Engineer to integrate the subsystems of unmanned aircraft systems with varying levels of human interaction and automation. The duties will include orchestrating everything from the system’s architecture, human integration, communication links, single vehicle autonomy, and team level autonomy to the modeling, simulation and analysis efforts necessary to support decision-making throughout development. We are looking for a creative Engineer who would enjoy the challenge of working on next generation systems, turning vision into reality.
Essential Job Functions:
Support research into human-autonomy coordination and collaboration.
Work with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists and top-level managers in the design, testing and evaluation of systems.
Establish functional and technical specifications and standards, solve hardware and software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire systems or subsystem.
Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system.
Collaborate with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
Design architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
Complete models and simulations to analyze or predict system performance under different operating conditions.
Develop system engineering, software engineering, system integration, or distributed system architectures.
Investigate system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use.
Project management duties to include facilitating interactions between the development team and client, managing project resources, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus eight (8) years of system engineering or systems integration experience.
DoD Secret clearance is required.
Knowledge and understanding of issues associated with unmanned systems.
Excellent communications with the ability to prepare and deliver clear presentations on research and development plans, project status, technical issues and results.
Demonstrated ability to think “on your feet” and react to time critical situations to achieve project success.
Creative problem solving capabilities.
Ability to support multiple projects.
Ability to apply technical standards, principles, theories and techniques.
Knowledge and understanding of issues associated with autonomous systems.
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering.
