Mgr., Risk and Regulatory Compliance is responsible for the facility"s risk and regulatory activities which include serving as Patient Safety Officer for the facility and ensures the Medical Center is in compliance withTJC accreditation standards, state and federal regulations and other identified standards. This position reviews, formulates and implements policy and organizational changes, working within general programmatic authority delegated by the CEO.
The position provides leadership accountability, team facilitation, and training and support for performance improvement and special projects within the organization. These projects include systemic review of policies and procedures, the implementation of systems to improve operations efficiency and ensuring ongoing compliance with state and federal regulations.
In this role the Manager:
â€ Implements and monitors the National Patient Safety Goals as established by The Joint Commission
â€ Assists the Dignity Health Area Claims Manager in managing claims
â€ Assists the Legal Nurse Consultant and/or conducting investigations into patient injuries/complaints
â€ Administers an enterprise risk management program on a daily basis
â€ Enhances quality care and minimizes human loss or injury and to protect the financial assets of the facility.
California RN required, Masters in Healthcare or Business preferred. Preferred certification as a "Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Managerâ€? (CPHRM), ARM, CPHQ and/or FASHRM.
Minimum five years experience in a health care organization with increasing responsibility in risk prevention, risk management and/or quality management with demonstrated progressive achievement. Familiarity with, and/or experience in, health care facilities and systems. Advanced knowledge and working relationships in risk management, quality management and improvement, The Joint Commission, insurance, safety, credentialing and privileging, legal/ethical issues, and extensive contact with professional organizations and societies in these areas. Willconsider aNurse Manager/Director with7years experience in an acute care setting.
Demonstrated abilities in areas of project management, analytical interpretation and critical thinking required. Knowledge of staffing and acuity systems required. Knowledge of TJC, Title 22 and other hospital rules and regulations required.
