HealthCare Partners may be the employer for you. We are currently seeking a Manager, Physician Services Consulting:



Responsible for providing practice management consulting to our affiliated physicians to improve office operational efficiency and productivity while providing cost savings and revenue enhancing services.  Helps providers with billing and collection issues, electronic medical records concerns, reductions to cost structure, growth of patient base, improved data collection and outcomes and financial stability for the practice.





  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate HealthCare Partners’ (HCP) commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer.
  • Conducts on-site assessment of existing clinician offices and their staff operations to identify opportunities for improvement in the areas of marketing and enrollment growth, operational process improvement and patient flow, revenue potential through billing and collection, HCP bonus maximization and patient satisfaction.
  • Implements management approved recommendations based on assessment.
  • Collaborates with Regional IPA team and HCP marketing representatives to facilitate and coordinate marketing plans to help package physician practice, connect office to social media and promote retention and enrollment growth.
  • Provides assistance in creating a work plan and determines the resources needed to implement HCC, STAR and P4P operational processes.
  • Identifies root causes of billing and reimbursement issues and resolves accordingly.
  • Recommends and implements patient satisfaction improvement strategies which may include coordination of office staff customer service training and review of patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Plans and recommends educational programs for the clinician office staff to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Connects office with appropriate HCP resources (i.e. Claims, Care Management, High Risk programs, etc.) and ensures office is connected and trained on HCP systems (i.e. PiP, Clinical Viewer, Secure Messaging, Claims Portal, HCP Connect, POP, etc.).
  • Coordinates the resolution of NextGen electronic medical records issues with PACIS team.
  • Provides knowledge on current market changes and opportunities and develops course of action for clinicians.
  • Recognizes network issues and informs the management team including the Regional Accountable Team.
  • Reports operational issues, statistics, progression toward goals and potential barriers to the management team.
  • Responds to and resolves questions or concerns from clinicians or office staff in a timely and service-oriented manner.
  • Works closely with the management team to enhance IPA physician satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with the management team on special practice management projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Manager, Physician Services Consulting 

Job Requirements

°         One or two years of post-high school education or a degree from a two-year college.

°         Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.




°         Over 5 years and up to and including 7 years of experience in physician office management and transitioning offices into managed care.


°         Computer literate.

°         Microsoft Office applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).

°         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

°         Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

°         Broad knowledge of physician office operations and market dynamics.

°         Experience in practice management as it pertains to understanding claims process, coding and CMS regulations.

°         Familiar with billing systems and a good understanding of HMO provider reimbursement mechanisms.

°         Understanding of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding systems.

°         General electronic medical records knowledge.

°         Solid healthcare knowledge and very familiar with managed care initiatives including P4P.

°         Knowledge of marketing in a managed care environment.

°         Flexible and critical thinking skills needed to improve processes without impacting current flow.

°         Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with all levels of staff.

°         Valid California driver’s license and the ability to commute between HealthCare Partners’ sites.
