WESCO operates nine fully automated distribution centers and approximately 475 full-service branches in North America and international markets, providing a local presence for customers and a global network to serve multi-location businesses and multi-national corporations. The Automation Sales Manager will manage the Automation Specialists for the purpose of creating customer demand for the products sold by WESCO.His teams' goal is to increase sales and gross profit of Automation Products and Services by implementing strategies that are co-developed by the local branches and our suppliers.Job SUMMARY AND MISSION  Leads the Automation Sales Group, that supports and promotes automation products, systems, and services requiring technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering.  This position sets the direction of our Automation Specialist team and helps drive sales in an assigned geography. Summary of Key Responsibilities   Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Develop an annual Automation Sales Plan that meshes with the District Sales Plans to meet sales goals in the defined geopgraphy.  This Plan will include Training of the staff, Demo campaigns, Customer events, Lunch & learn schedules by territory. It will also include a comprehensive plan down to the OSR and account level to meet our annual commitments.  Manage the day to day activity of the Automation Specialist team in the assigned geography.  Coordinate needs with sales teams. Manage Engineering partner relationships to increase support and sales at customers. To include Systems Integrators and Engineering firms. Key vendor relationship management to drive training, joint sales calls, L&Ls. Approves expense reports, mileage logs and other administrative tasks for their team. Hires and trains new employees to maintain proper staffing levels. Call on client representatives to convince prospective client of desirability and practicability of products or services offered. Reviews blueprints, plans, and other customer documents to develop and prepare BOMs and quotations for projected increases in production from client's use of proposed equipment or services. Calls on management representatives, such as engineers, maintenance, purchasing and other technical personnel at industrial accounts to attempt to convince prospective client of desirability and practicability of products or services offered. Draws up or proposes changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services that would result in cost reduction or improvement in operations. Provides technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment. Makes sales contacts, researches customer needs and develops application of products and services in an effective manner by maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets Gathers, analyzes and shares customer technical information and feedback Demos equipment and presents at seminars to provide technical information to customers and prospects  REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  
•        Well developed presentation skills
•        Technical knowledge of electrical and automation products
•        Knowledge of the industries served and the products and services
•        Experience with Siemens automation, drives and motion products is preferred EDUCATION
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and 5 years of experience or the equivalent
