Robert Half Technology is searching for an IT Support Technician for a client for a 6 month contract to hire. Looking for an IT tech who can provide IT support for hardware and software to multiple locations of the company and its clients which include office space and mobile users. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems unattended or with little supervision. Responds to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problems to ensure a timely resolution. Interacts with other levels of support to resolve issues within the Service Level Agreement (SLA), escalates when there is risk of exceeding the allotted time, and communicates with the internal customers about their support requests. Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment to meet the business needs of end-users. Maintains standardization of IT solutions for office computing, mobile computing, and high-end workstation environments, with a stewardship attitude towards elimination of not acceptable approaches to end-user computing. Creates, hands out as needed, and maintains updated documentation for end-users. Assists with onboarding new hires, and provides technology refreshers to more senior users. Will occasionally lead small projects, e.g. upgrade or convert software tools, or introduce new support tools. Responsibilities include Logs and responds to incidents, events, and request via phone mail or in person, providing level 1 IT support to users Prepares new computers and printers, installs new software, and applies updates to existing software. Migrates user accounts and data to new computers. Performs diagnostic tests within a complex integrated environment including multivendor software and within a segmented network. Reports malfunctioning equipment, and makes arrangements for repair. Adheres to the escalation guidelines as defined or outlined by senior management, timely reports all unresolved issues to senior management. Delivers maintenance schedules for the hardware, software, and IT systems under responsibility, according to company and IT department processes and procedures. Provides predefined reports related to IT support operations. Prepares end-user documentation for desktop-based systems, and one-point How To lessons. May be involved with backup and restoration activities for systems and content, e.g. desktop backups to the network, or hard drive recovery. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required. Must be willing to work on weekends, on holidays, or a different shift if required by Formal training and Microsoft certifications in relevant areas are a big plus: MTA/MCSA for Windows 7/8, MOS, MCITP, MCSE Desktop Infrastructure. Required experience: Minimum five years of experience in IT, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware and software solutions. Experience as IT support technician for organizations of at least 1,000 end-users, operating multi-site, geographically disperse, and with a high percentage of mobile workforce. Interfacing with multiple levels of an IT support organization, and with exposure to multiple levels of management on a daily basis. In-depth experience for several years with HelpDesk ticketing systems: heavy daily use, installation and upgrades, configuration for multiple support teams and ticket queues. In-depth experience with installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows (2000 Desktop, XP, 7), and Microsoft Office as far back as version 2007. Familiarity with remote support tools such as Microsofts Remote Desktop CompTia A+, Network+, Security+ certifications are a plus. Cisco certifications like CCENT, CCDA, CCNP, CCNA Routing a
