Support production and non-production Linux infrastructure for multiple web based applications and integrations servicing 1200+ auto dealerships in the US and Canada. The position will recommend, develop and implement technologies and tools to improve system stability and improve team operations. Is experienced in scripting using Python, Perl, Ruby or Shell. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Describe the essential job functions of the role, indicating the goal of the task. [INCLUDE ESTIMATED % OF TIME] Essential Functions: Serve as one of the primary points of contact for Linux infrastructure within the solution team and mentor junior team members Support uptime and performance requirements of customer facing applications and respond urgently to issues impacting customer or organizational operations. Triage incoming calls as required, investigate root cause within 7 days of call closure Complete projects to manage and migrate infrastructure as required Work within established enterprise change control processes Support requirements include managing internet facing sites and working within scheduled downtime Develop scripts and work with production automation team to standardize systems Ability to work up to 50 hours per week and on-call rotation for weekends and overnight coverage Non-Essential Functions: Assist with project management responsibilities REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Provide minimum Educational and Experience required; Describe 2-3 core areas of functional or professional knowledge required in the position and at least 2-3 soft skills (e.g. communication, leadership, organizational). List the minimum requirements for success in the position; be specific (e.g. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel; Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities) Education: Bachelors Degree Details: or equivalent work experience Experience: 5-7 yrs Details: Linux Administration High level of energy and initiative In depth knowledge of Redhat & CentOS Linux on Intel Architecture (HP) In depth knowledge of monitoring tools including Nagios and BMC Patrol In depth knowledge of high availability, VMware ESX, clustering, GlusterFS Familarity with databases: DB2, MySql, MongoDB Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (EMC Vmax & Netapp FAS) Knowledge of enterprise level change control and release process Written Communication Skills, ability to work in a team environment and document system architecture and changes Time Management, required to be on time for all meetings, set and meet realistic deadlines, ability to juggle simultaneous requests & projects.
