This is a 268-beds/ Not for Profit/ Level III Trauma Hospital with 380 staff physicians representing 34 medical specialties,more than 52,000 ER/Fast Track visits annually,largest hospital facility north of Albuquerque and south of Pueblo, CO and is accredited by Joint Commission. The facility has has an 18-bed ICU unit that sees both medical and surgical critical care patients with a 2 to 1 or 1 to1 Patient to Nurse Ratios depending on acuity of patient. The Director is responsible for all nursing operations of the ICU. Works closely with medical staff leadership to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction. Responsible for external and internal communication plans.
Qualified candidates will have 5 years of acute care experience in the ICU with at least 2 years of Manager or Director experience in the ICU setting.
-Experience: At least 5 years of acute care experience in the ICU and 2 years of Manager or Director experience in the acute ICU setting
-Bachelor Degree in Nursing (Master Degree of Nursing Preferred)
-RN with NM License, BLS, ACLS. CCRN highly desirable
-Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
-Strong analytical skills
-Ability to problem solve; ability to appropriately confront issues
-Ability to motivate others as individuals and as a team
-Ability to plan, organize, direct, and manage the activities of others
-Ability to effectively design and manage projects
-Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences
-Experience in dealing with physicians on an administrative level and ability to work collaboratively with medical staff members and leadership
-Ability to analyze data and utilize data in a meaningful and useful manner
- Strong knowledge of clinical and financial information systems, charge master, revenue cycle, including quantitative analysis tools, benchmarking tools, and PC applications such as Microsoft and Excel
-Strong nursing knowledge and clinical skills
- Ability to effectively run meetings to negotiate deadlines
