Job Description




SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to design, develop and direct the strategy of business education and development programs in alignment with the unique, complex needs of Baird's business units. This position works with leadership to identify business issues and design, create, and execute the development of specific competencies and skills as they relate to key areas associated with Baird's business units. In addition, this position is responsible for helping to develop innovative solutions to address learning and development needs across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Diagnose client needs and consult with client and HR partners in order to determine if the situation requires the support of Talent Development and to what degree.
2. Partner and consult with HR Business Partners, senior leaders and associates on learning and development and OD opportunities and interventions.
3. Recommend appropriate solutions to meet or exceed client needs.
4. Design, develop, implement and measure learning solutions that are targeted to increase performance and drive business results.
5. Identify delivery methodology to meet desired learning or development outcomes (i.e. blended solutions, online, webinar or instructor led.).
6. Manage projects to ensure that deliverables and timelines are met through the use of internal resources or external vendors and within the allocated budget.
7. Facilitate learning solutions or identify other internal /external resources as needed.
8. Build and maintain relationships and negotiate contracts with vendors and external consultants, as needed.
9. Work with internal systems (Learning, Talent, and Performance Management) to maximize the associate/learner experience, their continued development and the deployment of available tools.
10. Provides leadership and guidance to Talent Development team members.
11. Leverage industry trends and best practice data.
12. Implement and foster a culture of Competency based development planning.
13. Participate on special projects as assigned by the Director of Talent Development.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field plus a minimum of 5 years of professional HR/ Talent Management or related experience. Master's Degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of corporate training experience. Experience in a financial services firm preferred.
3. Experience with organizational assessment and design tools.
4. Demonstrated influence, negotiation, consulting and problem solving skills.
5. Knowledge of adult learning principles.
6. Demonstrated, effective presentation and facilitation skills.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Past experience effectively presenting, consulting and influencing leaders at the Executive and C-Suite level.
9. Familiarity with learning technologies such as eLearning, authoring tools and web delivery systems. Experience interacting with performance and talent management systems preferred.
10. Facilitator certifications preferred, e.g., change management, competency based courses, communication styles, etc.
