Department:  Business Affairs/Development/Analysis



The Time Warner Cable Media currently seeks a Small Business Sales Specialist for our Sales Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
- Sells and Services advertising for Small Business Accounts in a given geography or market
- Focuses on selling and servicing accounts and helping TWC Media profitably grow the small business segment
- Focuses on maximizing profitability of accounts in the segment, with an eye towards efficient service and support of small business clients (and other similar sized accounts)
- Includes conducting most business electronically or via email and phone
- Handles periodic (for instance quarterly) face to face client interactions
- Utilizes small business and specialty proposals and schedule templates to sell and service accounts

- Utilizes small business and specialty proposals and schedule templates to sell and service accounts
- Responsible to champion small business segment with other departments to help them service the customers more profitably
- Help TWC Media grow the small business segment of our customer base
- Complete appropriate sales activity reports and forecasts as required
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly goals based on efficiency, metrics and proper employment of small business support
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to new and existing customers to drive new business as well as protect and increase existing advertising

Essential Job Competencies:


Market and Job Knowledge
- Understands the nuances of local small businesses and how to help them attract customers using linear and digital advertising solutions
- Develops and maintains a full understanding of how to balance cost of sale implications of support while meeting client needs
- Understands or quickly develops understanding of the costs associated with the operations, production, client solutions and other aspects of our support structure.
- Understands consumer research. Able to analyze, synthesize and communicate it to the client.
- Understanding of the competition in the marketplace

Digital
- Understands how digital inventory is transacted
- Knows how digital platforms work together
- Market knowledge of online and digital marketplace
- Ability to explain complex digital media features in simple terms

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be computer proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of advertising sales software preferred.
