Job Description

Consultant, Provider Field

Develop and maintain strong external and internal relationships to achieve maximum provider satisfaction and network growth goals for existing providers in assigned regions. Manage, retain and grow assigned regions to achieve individual and corporate goals. Provide routine/scheduled cyclical visits to Davis Vision provider offices to ensure maintenance and coherence of the vision program. Educate and inform member doctors and staff of all aspects of Davis Vision.   
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Responds to Davis Vision managed care questions from providers and/or direct the provider’s questions to the appropriate associate.
  2. Conduct provider site visits when required to review overall practice attributes as specified in the Davis Vision agreements.
  3. Consultative and direct selling of the Excel Advantage program to all member doctors in a given territory.
  4. Increase Davis Vision provider website usage for authorizations and order entry.
  5. Prepare provider review forms and other required documents after each visit.
6.    Daily, weekly and monthly call reporting.
7.    Manages assigned region to achieve targeted network growth goals.
8.    Provides onsite recruiting, as needed.
9.    Explains a variety of benefits plans administered by Davis Vision and provides post education support to providers.
10.Meets with Top 100 providers within assigned region two times per year.
11.Updates activity in the PDB and provides a weekly report to the Manager, Network Development.
12.Manages PDB records, documenting activities and recruitment status.
13.Achieves targeted overall network growth goals within expected project timeframe.
14.Achieves targeted increase of utilization of The Collection within assigned region.
15.Achieves targeted increase utilization of providers using Excel Advantage.
16.Communicate effectively, consistently and frequently with providers. Continuously working to improve customer loyalty using solution based ideas more effectively reaching, engaging and interacting with providers to address evolving needs.
17.Ability to travel a minimum of 75% as required by the position. 

Job Requirements

•        Bachelor's degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Experience & Background:

•         Five years outside sales/merchandising experience preferred

•         Experience in Healthcare Administration, Managed Care and/or Provider Services
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulatory guidelines and statutes, audit tools, existing policies and procedures and provider manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of internal and external customers, Associates of the organization and participating doctors or their staff.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
