Maxim Physician Resources is currently seeking a Credentialing Specialist to verify education and work history, queries databases, conducts professional references, collects other supporting documentation, and reviews files of physicians for completeness.  This individual also completes client privilege applications on behalf of the physicians and completes and processes state licensure applications for physicians. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviews inventory and collects all necessary documents to complete a physician's file according to Maxim's process standards
  • Conducts Background Checks on physicians who have applied to work with Maxim
  • Queries required databases, obtaining any negative information supplied on physicians in question
  • Conducts verbal references
  • Investigates any negative past history in physician's record, obtaining all pertinent information
  • Assists physicians with hospital privilege applications
  • Assists physicians with state licensure applications
  • Keeps detailed documentation of any and all communications that transpire during the credentialing process
  • Prepares physician files for medical review
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Task-oriented, detail-oriented and self-directed
  • Team player
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Experience in credentialing healthcare providers a plus
