Job Description


The Media Network of Central Ohio is looking for connected, social-media savvy, high-energy, hyper-productive individuals who devour advertising media and want to be part of a dynamic sales team.

The Digital Sales Specialist is responsible for meeting and exceeding digital advertising goals for all sales teams, including key and territory retail and key auto within all of MNCO territorial region, across all digital advertising platforms. This position assists the sales teams in developing strategies and sales plans for achieving period and quarterly digital advertising goals with cold calling including four-legged calls with sales team members, generating leads through client segment search, internet search, marketing lists, referrals and closing skills to further the growth of new accounts while maintaining the growth of existing accounts. Objectives include selling an effective digital product mix through the use of verbal and written sales presentations with strategies and ideas, conducting needs assessment interviews with clients and maintaining profitability by following rate guidelines and limiting sales error adjustments. This position must exercise effective planning and forecasting of digital sales revenue. Utilizes Salesforce.com to its fullest capacity including and not limited to:  Accurate account information, opportunities, interactions, actions and tasks, pipeline management and flow through the 5 step process.  Duties include digital training to sales staff, and expertise in banner sales and design, and search engine sales optimization and marketing (SEO/SEM), maps and reputation management, social medical marketing, email blasts and all DMS products.  Other key functions of this position include coordination of initiatives and assisting advertising manager with digital contests in an effort to insure achievement of self and sales team digital goals.  Office base location is flexible within MNCO market.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous digital/online publishing or digital advertising sales experience preferred.  Requirements include 2-3 years of outside sales experience.
  • College degree in Advertising or Marketing or at least two years relevant sales experience required.
  • Must be able to think both strategically and creatively in order to bring ideas that can be used effectively to meet the client’s need.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability are essential.
  • Understanding of audience based selling principles, and how to apply audience analysis
  • Knowledgeable of digital products and applications, such as mobile, SEO/SEM and social media marketing.
  • Strong skills in planning, communicating, organizing, and in developing customer relationships.
  • Excellent presentations skills are required, both in developing and presenting material.
  • Proficient with computers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. (Windows environment and solid use of online for digital products and ads)
  • Strong reading comprehension, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory area, valid driver’s license, insurance requirements and a good driving record are a must.
