Job Description 





Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

  • Responsible for coordinating, conducting and documenting financial analysis projects and communicating results. Responsibilities and projects range from simple to complex and require the use of analytical modeling and business problem solving skills. 
  • Works on assignments extremely complex in nature where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible factors. Must exercise considerable independent judgment in recognizing problems and developing solutions. Errors may cause substantial expense and may expose the company to risk for additional loss or may create government/ regulatory issues. Develops new methods and procedures according to company objectives. Provides guidance to professionals and managers in organization. Level of review dependent on nature of assignment. 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Help coordinate the financial planning/budget and forecast processes for the bank. 
  • Help develop outlooks, forecasts and annual plans as required to support the bank’s operating goals.
  • Support the mid-mth estimate process for the bank
  • Support the pre-closing process for the bank
  • Performs variance analysis of actual and planned results.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the DFMs on a regular basis regarding LOB financial performance and planning activities
  • Help prepare monthly financial package for month-end reviews with the CFO & CEO.
  • Present results of analysis and make recommendations to management. Develop financial processes, tools and controls to support business unit requirements. Assess overall financial impact of business unit activities.
  • Adhoc financial analysis as necessary
 


Job Requirements 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting (or Bachelor's degree and Masters in related field) or equivalent training and experience.
  • Five  (5) or more years experience for a Grade 18, seven (7) or more years of experience for a 20, and ten (10) or more years of experience for a grade 21 is required in the following areas:
    • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis methods, organizational skills, and creative problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Prior experience in financial planning/budget and forecast processes for the bank
      Responsible for conducting financial analysis projects, LOB Forecasts, and communicating results.
    • Managed responsibilities and projects ranging from simple to complex that require the use of analytical modeling and business problem solving skills. 
    • Develop, analyze, and report business unit metrics as appropriate. Review processes and propose recommendations for improvement. 
    • Understands concepts underlying details, identifies potential errors, and makes decisions regarding future business needs. 
    • Thorough ability and experience in the following areas: gather, monitor and document data;  verbal and written communications skills; ability to manage external relationships;  project management skills including ability to manage project team members;  to recognize financial and accounting implications of business plans and decisions;  team skills; quality improvement skills; consulting, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the company's business goals and objectives and the vision of the bank. 
  • Facilitate and practice security and confidentiality of information. 
  • Advanced ability to persuade and influence others. 
  • Good knowledge of PC software applications. 
  • Prior business unit forecast and planning experience preferred
