Job Description

UMMC’s R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is one of the most advanced trauma and critical care centers in the world. Our Lung Rescue Unit, in the new Critical Care Tower, will offer cutting edge pulmonary care.  In this unit you will specialize in the management of severe respiratory failure using advanced ventilator management, prone positioning and V V ECMO.

We are currently seeking Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, experienced with ECMO and/or respiratory failure to provide 24/7 care to this patient population.

The successful candidate will have completed a Nurse Practitioner program at the Masters level, with Acute Care NP certification. Eligibility for Maryland licensure and prior NP experience in adult critical care setting is necessary, cardiac surgery preferred.
PA candidates should have completed an accredited program at the Masters level, and be eligible for Maryland licensure. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a critical care setting, cardiac surgery preferred.
