NURSE EDUCATOR
Job Description

Essential Functions: This position is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) that participates within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. The Nurse Educator incorporates the carative factors of human care and performs established procedures in accordance with the organizations and the nursing divisions policies, procedures, and standards of care.

The Surgical Services Nurse Educator develops and executes plans for employee development to improve patient, family, physician, employee satisfaction, quality of care and cost effectiveness.



Job Requirements

Three years clinical experience in Surgical Services including the Operating Room required. Prior education experience preferred. This position will be have responsibility for the perioperative and operative services, as well as some other house educational coverage. Masters degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field preferred. Current Illinois Registered Nurse License. Certification in Staff Development preferred.

Must possess excellent leadership skills, communication skills and be customer service focused. Must be willing to work in a team environment and bring a 'can do' attitude.
