We are currently seeking talented Director of Media Marketing for our San Antonio, TX facility.


PURPOSE OF JOB

Develops marketing plans support company and enterprise marketing goals. Partners with segment marketing to ensure company and segment goals and objectives are attained. Plans and directs efforts in the areas of research, promotion and communication, analysis, distribution channels, data base marketing systems, and budget. Continually evaluates and adjusts marketing and communication strategy to meet changing market/competitive conditions and member needs. Responsible for cost effective expenditures to achieve goals. Provides input to product development and operations regarding attainment of business goals and objectives. Responsible for hiring, developing, and evaluating personnel.

JOB DUTIES

  • Directs the planning, execution, and analysis of company marketing programs. Manages marketing activities to include market research, market modeling and analysis, design and production of promotion and communication tools, and the creation, coordination and implementation of distribution schedules. May be responsible for electronic delivery of marketing communications.
  • Develops strategic and operational marketing plans for product offerings and unsegmented programs. Partners with segments to develop market goals and objectives. Partners and communicates with segment marketing and/or alliance partners to create and implement marketing plans and strategies to achieve company and segment goals.
  • Responsible achieving market performance goals. Monitors, evaluates and adjusts company specific marketing plans to meet market performance measures and segment and company goals. Recommends product mix, target markets and volume of mail/media advertising. Monitors product performance and member response rates, and make recommendations to improve results. Reports market performance to senior management.
  • Participates in the development of new products and services, new marketing strategies and new channels of distribution to ensure products meet the needs of members.
  • Creates and allocates budgets to support the various marketing plans. Responsible for cost effective expenditures.
  • Responsible for providing systems support for the marketing function. Provides guidance to system users groups and application design teams. Approves system modification work orders and recommends priorities.
  • Manages and is accountable for the work of marketing employees. Performs personnel management functions, including employee selection, team building, project/workload assignment, employee training, monitoring of work activity and performance evaluation. Represents company and participates in cross-company teams.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS.
  • Minimum of 7 years working in media, marketing, communications or related function.
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience or leading various projects of equivalent length and complexity.

Preferred

  • Ability to manage and lead USAA's comprehensive paid media plan and practice, including internal team and external media agency oversight.
  • Expert knowledge of traditional and emerging media leveraged across a broad array of marketing initiatives.
  • Proven ability and success as leader of a team with direct reports.
  • Experience in leveraging consumer insights to inform targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrated composure and confidence to regularly interact with executive management.
  • Experience managing and leading multiple advertising agencies and business partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster strong working relationships with internal business partners, external agencies, and media properties.
  • MBA or similar advanced degree.

***Selected candidates will attend and complete the Management Development School program in San Antonio, TX, during their first six months in position.***
