JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating all clinical services associated with the Dignity Health Neurological Institute and Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program. This position acts as a clinical liaison and communications link to physicians, office personnel, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals and patients and their families. This position is responsible for maintaining quality standards for responsive service and professional documentation, maintaining current and accurate policies, procedures and practices, all in a manner which is consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

POSITION SCOPE

1. Responsible for the clinical operations of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute, to include program development, financial and human resource management, and maintenance of productivity and guest relation standards.
2. Incumbent will oversee the tracking and monitoring of all clinical data resources and benchmarking toward process improvement in clinical care.
3. Develops, manages and monitors the operational budget of the Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program.
4. The Director will strive to develop, identify, and implement best clinical practices for Neurological patients and implement across the 8 Dignity Health hospitals in the Service Area.
5. Manages and monitors all research activities related to the Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program.
6. Approves, reviews, and/or recommends expenditures for the Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program.
7. Participates in developing strategies for expanding services.
8. Develops promotional materials and participates in marketing services and programs.
9. Participates in developing and providing public information and outreach programs.
10. Develops and implements new programs and special projects, including educational offerings.
11. Represents Dignity Health at national meetings and in the community, as appropriate.
12. Develops business plans for new programs and resources.
13. Participates in strategic planning process for the Dignity Health Neurological Institute.
14. Liaison to all Dignity Health leadership staff on matters relating to the functioning of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute.
15. Liaison to all Dignity Health Medical Staff on matters relating to the functioning of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute.
16. Liaison to the Acute and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services on matters relating to the functioning of the Dignity Health Stroke Centers across the Sacramento Service Area.
17. Liaison to Department Managers as their departments relate to the functioning of the Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program.
18. Liaison to other Healthcare facilities on matters relating to the functioning of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute, Dignity Health Stroke Center/Research Program
19. Performs all other duties, as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Specific Knowledge

- Ability to problem solve with difficult physicians and clinical staff.
- Knowledge of clinical research
- Knowledge of neurological services.
- General principles of hospital administration.
- Regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
- Contemporary theory and practice of human resource
management and financial administration.
- Knowledge of professional standards and practice for areas of
responsibility.
- Communicates, writes, advises, and consults on complex material.
- Good organization and planning skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment in decision-making and ability to
handle stressful situations.
- Ability to conceptualize is necessary.
- Must be flexible, innovative, and creative in planning and
problem-solving.

2. Specific Qualifications

- Bachelors required in a health related field.
- Graduate degree in a health related field is desired.
- Some business skills, program development, or business courses required.
- Prior experience preparing research projects.
- Prior experience public speaking, writing, and marketing. Must be able to write effectively for a variety of audiences, both professional and lay.
