The Hospital Campus Administrator is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of assigned facilities. The Administrator will have a continued focus on improvements in clinical quality, financial performance, patient satisfaction, associate engagement, and physician relations, while adhering to the CHRISTUS mission. Directs, supervises and coordinates all personnel, functions and activities in all departments and assigned areas of responsibility. Consults with and advises the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Alamo Heights (CSRAH) Vice President on issues relating to the hospital. Develops and grows positive working relationships with the medical staff members. Develops incremental business through growth of existing services and programs and the development of new business opportunities. Recommends changes in policy, facilities, equipment and programs, in order to achieve the hospital’s objectives and improve efficiency. Reviews and evaluates hospital compliance with staffing standards. Participates in the preparation of the hospital’s strategic plan and the operating and capital budgets. Provides personnel with leadership, decision-making and direction in defined areas. Participates in assessing the environment, forecasting trends, transmitting values, communicating ideas, development and implementing policies, managing, and initiating systems and programs. Generally, this position is directly responsible for non-nursing operational departments. These usually include clinical services (e.g., Radiology, Rehabilitation Services, Laboratory Services, etc.) and select patient support services (e.g., Plant Operations, Dietary, Patient Transportation, etc.). Occasionally, the position may also have responsibility for staff positions or other areas as assigned by the Administrators.
Education and Training:q Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and/or Business Administration. Experience:q Completion of a formal, twelve-month administrative residency affiliated with an accredited healthcare administration program. Must have demonstrated operational expertise. OR q A minimum of ten years of progressive hospital operations management experience. Must have experience in building productive physician relationships and an ability to grow profitable volumes. Licensure: q None. Certifications:q Board certification in healthcare management is preferred.
