Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, SICU
University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a desire to join our premier multidisciplinary team in the Surgical ICU. The Acute Care NP performs examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care to patients requiring a variety of surgical interventions, including liver transplants, complex vascular and abdominal surgery. Professional practice is in collaboration with the critical care physicians and surgeons in a 24/7 coverage model. The Surgical ICU serves as a referral center for patients in Maryland and beyond.
The successful candidate will have completed a Nurse Practitioner program at the Masters level, with acute care NP certification. Maryland licensure, and prior NP and/or surgical critical care clinical experience is also necessary. Newly graduated Nurse Practitioners with solid critical care experience are encouraged to apply. The position offers a full time, rotating shift schedule with weekend and holiday coverage.

A Master of Science degree, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program. Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization. A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
