The Global Solutions Cloud Services Weather segment within Schneider Electric is seeking a highly qualified Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team.  Reporting to the Quality Assurance Director, the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will ultimately be accountable for the delivery of all quality assurance and quality control related activities within the Web Services program.  The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will also be accountable for leading the Web Services program test automation initiative as well as the implementation of quality assurance best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the strategic and tactical quality assurance approaches for the Web Services program.
  • Deliver all quality assurance and quality control related activities for the Web Services program.
  • Lead and execute the Web Services program test automation initiative.  
  • Actively participate in Web Services meetings – project planning, project kick off, requirements reviews, daily stand ups, defect triage and resolution, sprint planning, sprint reviews, release reviews – be the voice of QA. 
  • Be actively engaged in the Web Services program requirements review process providing meaningful input as to the quality of requirements – ensure requirements are testable.
  • Provide quality assurance estimates for all Web Services program QA work.
  • Draft and communicate Web Services program test strategies and test plans that provide appropriate test coverage taking into consideration the six project constraints – quality, risk, schedule, cost,scope, and benefit. 
  • Create test scenarios, manual test cases, and automated test scripts that ensure software meets requirements – socialize test scenarios/test cases with the Web Services program team to ensure appropriate test coverage – execute test cases and record results.
  • Manage the Web Services program test data creation and maintenance.
  • Communicate test status, test progress, and test results – provide objective metrics as well as subjective analysis to supplement or further explain in simple terms what the metrics mean.
  • Manage the Web Services program defect process – log, track, and report defects in a clear, detailed, and reproducible manner. 
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate Web Services program risks and issues.
  • Provide input for Web Service program release go/no go decisions.
  • Actively participate in Web Service program root cause analysis exercises and take ownership of the implementation of lessons learned corrective actions.
  • Continually improve quality assurance processes and procedures – identify improvement opportunities – implement innovations and quality assurance best practices.
  • Build positive working relationships with the Weather segment product management, project management, online development, data development, customer service, sales, meteorological operations, and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated quality assurance discipline expertise – QA processes, QA procedures, QA artifacts, QA tools, test approaches, test phases, test techniques, test strategies, test plans, test estimates, defect management, QA delivery models, risk management, automation tools, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills – and listening skills – ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical trouble shooting skills.
  • Quality assurance best practice implementation experience.
  • Agile scrum software delivery model experience.
  • Metrics and leading indicators experience – collection, analysis, and decision making from.
  • Strong collaboration and positive influence skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where priorities shift to respond to changing business needs.
  • Positive, can-do, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Well organized – thorough – detail oriented.
  • Self motivated – self directed.
  • Meteorology knowledge a plus. 
 Technical Qualifications: 
  • SQL experience.
  • Web Services testing experience.
  • Web Services automation experience – scripting, tools, and frameworks.
  • Defect management tools experience.
  • Windows and Linux experience.
  • XML experience.
  • SOAP/REST experience.
  • Python experience a plus.
  • Performance testing experience a plus.
Years Of Practice: 
  • Six years information technology quality assurance/software testing industry experience.
  • Three years test automation experience – test automation scripting, test automation tools, test automation frameworks, test automation best practices.
Education: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Specialized QA training or QA certification a plus.
