Job Description

The Community Education Specialist is responsible for ensuring wound care program visibility in the community. A key component of the role is to establish and maintain a contiguous relationship among the hospital, the physicians and the community.

While the Community Education Specialist is employed by Healogics, the position represents the hospital wound care program and works to gain local visibility for the wound care program as a service of the hospital.

Specific Responsibilities:

o Works directly with the Healogics Program Director and hospital marketing department to ensure that the wound care program is included in annual marketing campaign.

o Creates and maintains a list of Family Practice, Internal Medicine & Surgical physicians within a given radius of the hospital

o Monitor and update the quality and timeliness of the list

o Modify as need to reflect an active list of responsive physicians

o Develops and executes a system of repeated visits to the physicians, with a method of documenting the frequency, nature and outcome of each visit

o Documentation of visits and delivery of patient progress notes

o Documentation of face to face interaction with physician

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing/Public Relations.

o Minimum 4 years of experience in medical sales and/or hospital public relations.

o Experience in arranging visits to physicians and interfacing with those physicians, their nurses and front office personnel, for the purpose of ensuring wound care program visibility for the hospital

o Proficient in Microsoft Outlook software, including Word, Excel, Power Point & Access database management.
