Delivery Driver - Attendant

Reports to: Catering Manager, General Manager

FLSA status: Nonexempt
 Position Summary:Deliver and set up catered foods and other foodstuffs as required in a visually appealing manner to Guckenheimer standards in a timely manner.  Make deliveries on campus to the correct location at the designated time. Set up catered meals , attractively arrangeing them, with all required utensils and condiments.
Qualifications:
  • 1 years providing excellent one on one customer service.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with customers.
  • 1 years catering experience.
  • Valid Drivers license and DMV report required when driving a vehicle.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend delivery schedules and delivery lists.
  • 2 years job experience demonstrating work ethics and reliability
Position Responsibilities:
  • Maintain HACCP program requirements
  • Organize deliveries so they are made effieciently and on time.
  • All pieces of the order along with décor, garnishes, equipment, utensils , and condiments must be delivered.
  • Excellent customer service and interaction with catering customers.
  • Make deliveries in a professional and unobtrusive manner.
  • Substitute for or assist other catering employees during emergencies or rush periods.
  • Must follow all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
  • Commitment to the service values and ethics of the client company.
  • Must comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and principles.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must be able to correctly and safely use standards catering equipment. Chefs' knives; carts; chafing dishes and sterno, lift gates, risers.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of catering products, quality control, and techniques for food presentation.
  • Must have knowledge of standard catering presentation techniques.
  • Job requires skills to organize scheduled work to insure on time deliveries.
  • Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stresssituations
Nonessential Skills:
  • Assisting with food preparation and service in other areas of catering.
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Food Preparation Skills
  • Valid drivers license and driving experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 #. Employee must be able to work on their feet 7.5 hour per day excluding breaks.
  • Employee has to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
  • Job requires delivery of hot and cold food to on campus sites using carts and vans.
