JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking talented Investment Business Advisor for our San Antonio, TX facility. 

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Investment Business Advisor develops and implements products and initiatives for investment operations. Leads project prioritization and coordination to best manage business resource utilization within assigned functional area. Serves as a primary resource on cross-functional teams and advises business on risk mitigation opportunities and changes to the regulatory environment to ensure proper compliance with processes and regulatory requirements are adhered to. This role collaborates with enterprise internal partners as well as external partners to coordinate and successfully implement business solutions. In addition, this role leads and coordinates internal/external audits and regulatory exams.

JOB DUTIES

  • Serves as a key resource and participates on project teams related to product and process development, business rules analysis, and service delivery within investment operations.
  • With minimal guidance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and applies in-depth knowledge of multiple processes to resolve moderately complex issues.
  • Makes recommendations, and implements business solutions to improve existing tools and processes and meet business needs.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, including product management, to facilitate the development of business rules, requirements and artifacts. Provides insight to management on issues.
  • Coordinates with appropriate stakeholders and program/project sponsors to help ensure successful product and initiative implementation.
  • Facilitates training through collaboration with internal partners, develops communications, and related activities.
  • Independently researches, plans, develops, implements, and administers rules, requirements, procedures, contracts, and processes to ensure compliance, product competitiveness, profitable growth and adherence to USAA's commitment to being World Class.
  • Provides guidance and oversight to process owners, and partners to develop test strategies and criteria.
  • Develops and manages consistent execution of operational and market performance policies across multiple operations centers and provides trend analyses.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree may be substituted).
  • 6+ years of investment operations, financial services, or relevant experience required, to include three years of management or leadership experience.
  • FINRA Series 99 (or the ability to attain within 90 days of hire).

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field of study.
  • Mutual funds, Retail Brokerage, 529 Savings, or similar product experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or other Six Sigma certification.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 24.
  • Experience with analyzing numbers or data.
  • Ability to analyze investment operational reports to determine trends and root causes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Working knowledge of investment industry technology applications, and products.
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within time constraints.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to make decisions.
