The incumbent would be responsible for providing the daily supervision and work direction for assigned collections team. Directs staff in the efficient resolution of credit card collections in order to reduce exposure and loss and maintain delinquency and loss ratios that are consistent with bank standards. Determines appropriate distribution of accounts among Collectors based on degree of difficulty, volume and loan type. Directly or through staff, works with delinquent customers to avoid further delinquency. Assists in developing policies and procedures to provide for more efficient collection processes.
Supervisory functions include leading and directing a staff of approximately 25 employees, evaluating employee performance and making salary recommendations, performing all aspects of the staffing process including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff to ensure appropriate hiring practices and maintain staffing levels, staff training, and providing work direction.
The department will operate from 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM, Monday - Thursday and 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Friday. Weekend hours will be required in all schedules and may include both Saturday and Sunday to 11:00 PM as the business needs demand. The hours and days of operation may change; as a result, the schedule will include a minimum of two evening shifts and rotating weekend shifts. - Technical, trade, or business school certificate
- Three or more years of collections experience
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience
- Thorough knowledge of collections and the products and services supported by the area
- Thorough knowledge of applicable bank policies, procedures and collection related laws, regulations and procedures
- Proficient knowledge of computer applications and/or the equipment used in the collection area
- Well-developed customer relations skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems with minimal guidance
- Good leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
