Software Engineer - CE3-2878
Develop, test and document software systems including simulations, databases and software tools in support of aerospace modeling and simulation activities with an emphasis on autonomous systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Participate in the full cycle of software development.
Work with stakeholders to determine use cases and software system requirements.
Write detailed design documents for software features.
Development and maintenance of source code for applications and testing
Write and maintain project and user documentation for new and existing software systems.
Aid in the development of new features and enhancements using Java as a primary programming language.
Collaborate with other engineers on the team and work with analysts to ensure delivery of software features necessary for decision making.
Perform testing of system features and enhancements to assure they meet requirements.
Provide support to software end-users in the form of deployment and debugging assistance.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of programming experience with the Java language is required.
Must be able to obtain a National Agency Check (NAC) government clearance.
Ability to develop scientific and engineering software in an object oriented environment.
Ability to work closely with customers and translate high level requirements into working software.
Ability to work well in a small group.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Strong background in Java.
Experience with unit testing and the JUnit framework.
Experience working with Netbeans, IntelliJ IDEA.
Experience with Git or other distributed source control.
Strong technical writing skills
Experience with the C and C++ languages.
GPU programming experience.
XML & XML Schema experience.
SQL RDBMS programming experience.
Experience building graphical user interfaces with Java Swing.
Familiarity with network programming and distributed computation.
