Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

There is a neonatologist on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as a respiratory therapist and trained newborn care staff available to care for high-risk babies. We deliver more than 10,000 babies a year and operate the only birth center in the region designated to handle high-risk pregnancies.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will help us meet the expectations of Senior Leadership and Neonatology for rapidly expanding services and developing new programs in NICU. This role will work with the Clinical Nurse Specialist to prepare nursing staff to care for higher acuity patients, and provide staff education and skills needed for participation on the Neonatal Response Team and the Neonatal Transport Team. The role of the NICU educator will help facilitate the fast movement we are doing in developing the Level 3 NICU during the hiring process, Neonatal transport team along with the surgical interventions which could be done at the bedside. Serve as an influential leader, role model and consultant for education practice and patient care delivery within the service line.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Approximately two year’s clinical experience in area of specialty
- Experience in patient and staff education development and implementation, quality improvement, program development, and professional development
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS and NRP certified if working in Maternal/Child.
