Job Description

  • Responsible for negotiating component part pricing.
  • Develop, implement, and track cost reduction plans.
  • Lead sourcing projects and assure timely component kick-off for New Product Launches.
  • Manage supplier price accuracy
  • Work closely with production plants to resolve tactical issues as they arise (i.e. issues related to delivery, invoices, payment, etc.).
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects related to sourcing, new supplier development and risk management.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key suppliers such that both Wilbert and Supplier achieve benefit from the relationship.
  • Develop strategies to support negotiations and cost reduction activities
  • Will be responsible for the following commodities - electronics (to include: wire harnesses, switches, lighting, processors, sensors, etc), metal components and stampings (other than hardware and fasteners), extruded and co-extruded plastic sheet (heavy gauge), color concentrates, rubber hoses, gaskets and fittings
  • Must be a team player

 

This person is a manager of their assigned commodities. They coordinate purchasing/quality activities associated with assigned projects, including strategic sourcing, supplier performance evaluation, value analysis while serving as a primary liaison with suppliers.

Develop strong network of vendors who can deliver zero defect parts and components at competitive prices. 
General plastics and automotive/durable goods manufacturing background preferred.  A general understanding of QMS/ISO/TS qualitu standards is also preferred.

Job Requirements

 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree….   (business, engineering, supply chain preferred)

Minimum of 5yrs purchase / materials experience (manufacturing preferred)

Familiar with procurement systems and processes

Demonstrate ability to negotiate prices and terms that are competitive and in line with the company’s performance goals.

Ability to read blueprints

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
