TURNAROUND PROJECT MANAGER
Manages and directs project staffs as assigned to keep turnaround projects running
smoothly and within budget without compromising safety and quality standards.
Coordinates project activities through the clients’ representative, and acts on behalf of the
company in good faith while addressing contractual issues and or project specifics.
Manages and oversees routine and specialize turnaround activities affecting the repair,
modification, and installation of petrochemical processing units. Manages and provides
technical oversight, recommendations, troubleshooting, and inspects work performed by
staff and assist with training personnel to complete tasks safely. Responsible for the
managing, controlling and coordinating turnaround and maintenance scope of work
within the boundaries of corporate policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- • Manages project schedules, tasks and assigned staff to best facilitate the
completion of assigned project. Plans, directs and assigns duties for project
personnel; ensures all necessary crafts are assigned to the appropriate task, and
work performed is consistent with the established job scope and in accordance
with the contract parameters.
- • Recruits, trains, and supports turnaround employees to assure effective and
competent performance of project execution occurs; performs audits of job task to
ensure quality of work being performed and to verify that all safety procedures
are being followed.
- • Reads and understands the specifications or blueprints for the work to be done
and plans the steps to be taken to complete the project task. Clearly explain steps,
provide directions and answer questions about the turnaround processes to
employees and subcontractors. Assigns necessary Superintendent’s to the multiple
tasks and participates in discussions to address Safety Analysis Program
(SAP) and or a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) that encompasses all aspects of safety
considerations including: federal, state, local, client and or company regulations.
- • Manages all financial parameters of the project execution in compliance with the
contractual arrangements. Financial parameters may require oversight of staff or
direct involvement that may affect income/expenses of the project such as:
change orders, purchase requisitions, third party items, labor/equipment invoicing,
etc. Maintains project specific authorization and or approval of all project
personnel transactions such as hiring, termination, transfers, and wages associated
with project personnel, unless directed otherwise by Corporate Management.
