Job Description

On a picturesque 36-acre campus in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Silver Springs - Martin Luther School (SS/MLS) offers a holistic approach in addressing the developmental, emotional, educational, spiritual and social well-being of children and families. A strong interdisciplinary philosophy guides the dedicated professionals who provide assessment, treatment and instruction within the context of innovative residential, specialized foster family care, and educational programs.

Comprehensive services are designed to address the issues of behavioral dysfunctions and developmental disabilities in children and adolescents while working toward reuniting children with their families. The efforts of all programs are focused on providing outcome-oriented treatment that is individualized, consistent and flexible, using methods that are systematic, data-based and affirming.

Residential Counselor / Mental Health Workers

Silver Springs - Martin Luther School is seeking a full-time (35 hour/week) Residential Counselor / Mental Health Worker.

The focus of the Residential Counselor / Mental Health Worker position is to provide excellent care and treatment services for the severely emotionally disturbed children served by Silver Springs' Residential Treatment Program. A commitment to help nurture, counsel, set limits, educate, heal and love, along with an understanding and ability to work with children are priorities. A willingness to learn and use agency-approved therapeutic crisis intervention techniques is required.

35 hour/week schedule:

Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon 3p-11p plus weekly staff meeting

Note: Some flexibility in scheduling is required.

Job Requirements

Must have a bachelor's degree in a human services related field. Candidate must have at least one year of direct care experience plus a valid driver's license. Some flexibility in scheduling is required.
