Job Description

Associate Director of Search Analytics sought by major media agency in their NYC offices. This position is responsible for all deliverables including, but not limited to, forecasting, weekly reporting, media and creative tests, SEM analysis, and accurate budget calculations.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Statistical and Data Mining methods to project, explain and optimize paid search volume and performance

  • Lead the Design of Experiment for media tests and oversee execution

  • Standardize SEM analytics throughout client’s business units

  • Guide & Consult search teams on strategic decisions based on data-driven insights

  • Ensure all client materials meet expectations (from content to quality), are on strategy and delivered on time

  • Conduct client calls and lead presentations

  • Establish a strong relationship with the client through a demonstration of industry knowledge and of client’s basic business issues


People Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate open communication to ensure the reporting team is well informed of media activities

  • Oversee and develop team of analysts

  • Capable of working successfully within a team as well as independently

Job Requirements

  • Desired background/degree in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics or Engineering (Master’s degree a plus)
  • Strong statistics background, A/B and multivariate testing experience, regression modeling experience, data mining experience, experience in clustering and segmentation techniques

  • Strong understanding of marketplace economics, game theory, and online auction structures

  • Advanced Excel skills required

  • Basic understanding of SQL required

  • Knowledge of SAS, SPSS, R or MS Access a plus

  • Knowledge of web analytics (Adobe Sitecatalyst, Google Analytics, WebTrends, or DoubleClick/Dart) a plus

  • Knowledge of Ad servers, esp. Mediaplex a plus

  • Knowledge of HTML, XML or Java a plus

  • 5+ years relevant work experience; digital media experience required


Salary: commensurate with experience
