      CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR

Star Furniture
sells bedroom, dining room, living room, and home office furniture, rugs and home furnishing accessories.

Star Furniture has an opening at our Westside headquarters in our warehouse office for a CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR.

We Are looking for a Customer Service Supervisor with good organizational, interpersonal, training, communication,and problem-solving skills and supervisory experience.

  • This person will be an Assistant to the Customer Service Manager and will oversee all office functions, training, customer calls, and supervising Customer Service Representatives AND Outside Service Technicians who service our customers in their homes. 

  • Customer service supervisory experienced is required, and previous furniture retail, distribution, or call center experience preferred. 

  • Degree preferred.

  • The successful candidate should be positive, motivated, and energetic individual who can work a flexible schedule that may include Saturdays and Sundays.





The essential functions of the job are:
  • Use a computer to manage and monitor department.
  • Control costs in labor, supplies and equipment.
  • Review attendance, overtime and maintain records.
  • Enforce industrial vehicle and safety policies, verify PPE daily, and adhere to Star's Fleet 
     Safety Program.
  • Ability to train, motivate and conduct meetings.
  • Area and service vans maintained daily to implemented 5S standards.
  • Monitor inventory control for the transfer system and warehouse, and audit "24-Hour 
             List" List.
  • Oversee management of  Customer Service office and Outside Service Technicians.
  • Monitor required department reports and delivery payroll.
  • Department focus is to improve upon the U-Rate-Us Index.

Knowledge and Skills:

  •  Reading, writing and communication skills in English.
  • and Skills: Ability to lead a meeting and speak in front of a group.
  • Interviewing skills and ability to conduct annual reviews.
  • Equipment: computer, fax, copier, pen and scanner gun.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and MS Word.
  • Knowledge of Star’s computer system and warehouse operations.
  • College preferred & Professional Certifications with supervisory experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of OSHA, FMCSR & EPA regulations.

 Environment:
  • Capable of working in a warehouse environment and physically handling hot and cold 
  • climatic changes.
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals and diesel fumes in an open-air environment; safety glasses 
  • and mask provided upon request.
  • Florescent lighting for eight-hour shift period.
  • Caution required for industrial vehicle traffic.

 Working relationships:
  • This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.  Candidate must be able to communicate, and work well with others in a team environment
