Job Description


 

We are currently a child, adolescent and senior adult behavioral health facility located in downtown Springfield, Missouri.  Not only do we offer a rewarding career helping others but an opportunity to become part of an organization that is experiencing dynamic change and accelerated growth.         

 

We have full-time and part-time Behavioral Health Technician openings on all three shifts.   Evening and overnight shifts provide bonus.  Full-time positions offer a benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, short and long-term disability, 401K, vacation, holiday and sick time.    Must be able to work every other weekend and attend a 6 day orientation during the day. 

These are entry level positions that offer growth and promotional opportunities. 

 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to 

 

*    Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
*    Demonstrate the ability to employ de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed
*    Assist patients with daily life activities and lead with educational activities and recreational outings
*    Maintain professional boundaries at all times
*    Be a positive role model to patients and co-workers
*    Assist in observing client behavior to monitor effectiveness of treatment plans and assist with documenting progress of patients

Job Requirements



*          Minimum of two years toward degree program in one of the human services disciplines 
            such as psychology, sociology, criminology, pastoral studies, etc. or  

*          Two years of experience in patient care preferably working with individuals having

            developmental or behavioral issues

*          Must be able to understand and participate in behavioral therapy
*          Must possess ability to emotionally support patients, remain calm and professional,
            and use good interpersonal skills to diffuse potentially volatile situations.

*          Must be able to facilitate groups

*          Must be dependable, exercise good judgment, be a role model and team player

*          Must possess physical agility to manage patient and residents
