Great Opportunity for an experienced  Sales and Events Manager   (posted July 31, 2014) in Miami, Florida.  Gaming Hospitality Executive has been retained to assist a company in identifying a candidate with experience in being responsible for developing and implementing sales plans to generate wedding business that increases resort room utilization, and F&B revenues as well as managing the sales process for travel agents, tour operator, bus operator wholesaler and receptive operator segments while providing outstanding customer service

Job description for the position of Sales and Events Manager 

  • Responsible for supporting and sourcing  the Wedding, Travel Agent Business Development, Marina and Group Incentive Sales Managers to maximize revenue for the resort and cruise ship
  • Responsible for working hand-in-hand with Sales Managers on lead development, site visits, contracts, and group servicing
  • Responsible for assisting with FIT, Wholesale Accounts and Corporate Contract development
  • Respnsible for supporting nusiness development manager with travel agent registration, cabins and commission payments
  • Responsible for classifying, recording and organizing all business leads, turndowns, proposals and space intensive materials
  • Responsible for organizing site visits, FAM trips, and daily interaction with accounts
  • Responsible for preparing contracts for resort group clients
  • Responsible for creating monthly Month End Reports for Sales team
  • Responsible for creating monthly Revenue Reports for Revenue team
  • Responsible for working in close collaboration with clients to insure success throughout their dealings with the resort
  • Responsible for preparing sales kits, banquet event orders, contracts, and invoices for groups
  • Responsible for monitoring all monthly sales orders through a property system
  • Responsible for actively pursuing new accounts calling on wedding related businesses, attending functions and continually seeking leads that will provide resort room and F&B revenue.
  • Responsible for working with Marketing and Advertising departments to develop marketing active plans directed at the wedding market and coordinating with annual event calendar.
  • Responsible for attending trade shows, community events, and industry meetings. 
  • Responsible for utilizing sales savvy and hospitality expertise to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.   
  • Responsible for maintaining memberships in key trade organizations connected to the weddings market.
  • Responsible for ensuring sales agreements for wedding group, and functions contracts entered into with the clients are communicated to other departments to assure guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for possessing outstanding leadership, organizational skills, strong yield and revenue management skills, excellent written and verbal communications, a guest service focus, a team orientation and a passion for sales. In addition to your selling skills, we need creativity, motivation and dedication for this position.
  • Responsible for assisting the Director of Sales with the implementation and achievement of sales plans.

Job Requirements

The Following qualifications are required for the Sales and Events Manager position:

  1. Must have a Bachelors Degree
  2. At least three 3-5 years relevant experience in the field.
  3. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  4. Strong ability to effectively communicate in oral and written formats to external accounts and internal team members.
  5. Excellent organizational aptitude with regard to arranging specific needs for groups.
  6. Microsoft Office experience and proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
  7. Familiar with social platforms including Facebook, Twitter and other prevailing platforms.
  8. Have solid organizational and administrative skills.
  9. Possess strong problem solving abilities.
  10. Must be familiar with the locality, congenial and a team player.
  11. Minimum 18 years old and have the ability to travel internationally with a valid passport.
